F.A.Q.

Program Basics

Is there tuition for the program?......................................................................................................................................................................... No. E.C.F. is 100% free in order to remain as accessible as possible.

Is transportation provided?.............................................................................................................................................................................. No. E.C.F. parents are responsible for their child's transportation to Zavala Elementary.

When does the program operate?.............................................................................................................................................................................. The E.C.F. program meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during regular C.C.I.S.D. school days from 3:15-5:45pm. Pick-up begins at 5:45pm.

Who is eligible to register?.................................................................................................................................................................................. Any C.C.I.S.D. K-5 student who can demonstrate a need for academic help through teacher recommendations, report cards, and/or test scores.

Do you accept children with learning disabilities?........................................................................................................................ Students with disabilities are welcome to apply; however since E.C.F. is not a specialized special education program, we work closely with parents and guardians to determine whether our program can appropriately meet each students needs and provide the best experience for them.

Student Expectations

How often does my child need to attend?.................................................................................................................................................................. Students are expected to attend all program days and remain for full program hours. Parents/guardians should contact the Program Director should they anticipate an absence.

What happens if my child is absent?............................................................................................................................................................................... All absences are documented and the appropriate attendance consequence will be applied in accordance with the attendance policy outlined in the program application.

What happens if my child does not follow program expectations?.................................................................................................................................................................. Concerns will be addressed appropriately, with parent communication and further consequences applied as needed according to program policies.

Parent/Guardian Expectations

What are the pick-up and drop-off procedures?.................................................................................................................................................................. Students are to be dropped off at the cafeteria entrance where they will be greeted by program staff. Students will be picked up on the opposite side of the school near door #.

How should I communicate with the program?.................................................................................................................................................................. Parents/guardians can reach out to the Program Director at ... should they have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Who is allowed to pick up my child?...................................................................................................................................................................... Students will be released only to those listed on the approved pick-up list. Please contact the Program Director to make any changes.
